Dear user, thanks for your valuable question. Now a days we are too busy for aspiring success at work so that we forget to enjoy our life. As a result, our personal & professional life becomes vulnerable. To set the harmony between work & life, we must learn how to balance them. Few tips are given below for maintaining work-life balance-
1. Improve efficiency at work
Sometimes, inefficient, unplanned work routine can be responsible for imbalance in work & life. So, if you start to make a routine for your activities at work, you can increase your efficiency at work. Reducing distractions, sharing your work responsibilities can help a lot to improve your job satisfaction. For personal & professional life, you must set goals & priorities. As a result, you will get more time for work & recreation both.
2. Prioritize your health
There is a saying, “Health is a state of complete harmony of the body, mind and spirit"". Prioritizing your mental & physical health can not be a matter of hesitation. So try maintain a good health physically & mentally. Because, when you are healthy you will be more productive & cheerful at the same time.
3. Set Boundaries & workhours
For more productive, healthy & balanced life you need to set boundaries & workhours. Overworking may make you a hardworking employee, but your personal life can be at stake. You should learn when to give time for family & when to work for office.
4. Add flexibility
There should be flexibility at work. For example, employee can work remotely if they have some urgency. They can share job responsibilities to maintain workloads. Sometimes employee can go home earlier if need to attend family program. Because, your office won't miss you after you have left, but you will miss the time that you needed to spend with your family or loved ones rather than doing overtime.
5. Find time for yourself
You might be an employee at work, but outside the office you have different role. May be you are a parent, caregiver, an artist etc. Doing the hectic job & other family responsibilities all the day might make you monotonous, less productive. You have to keep some times for your own. You can enjoy reading, sleeping, travelling etc. you can just spend time with daydreaming. This will help you to boost up your mood & productivity.
6. Find the job you love
Most of the people don't enjoy their job. Toxic environment, job satisfaction, lack of motivation, compatibility & passion can be the reason of imbalanced work & life. Don't hesitate to switch your job, if you feel your job draining your energies. Try to find the job that you will love, the job that will give you a complete happiness personally & professionally.
